CARAMEL BANANA SPLIT I'm not normally a sweet tooth but this was DELICIOUS and quick.
FUN FACT Banana Sundae was first created in 1904 by an optometrist in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, named David "Doc" Strickler.
Serves 4 Prep & Cook time 15 minutes
UTENSILS Whisk, Small saucepan, Small bowl, Electric mixer, knife, Ice cream scoop, small jug, 4 plates
INGREDIENTS 1/2 Cup caramel top 'n' fill (you can find in the supermarket) 3/4 Cup thickened heavy cream 4 Small bananas 8 Scoops vanilla ice cream 2 Tablespoons crushed nuts
LET'S COOK
1. Whisk Caramel & 1/4 cup cream in small saucepan over a low heat until smooth. Remove from heat and pour into the jug. 2. Beat remaining 1/2 cup cream in small bowl with the electric mixer until soft peaks form. 3. Peel the banana and cut in half lengthways, place on the plate flat side up. Top banana with 2 scoops of ice cream on each. Either top the ice cream with a dollop of cream or if you want to be fancy pipe the cream around the ice cream. Drizzle the sauce over the top and sprinkle with the crushed nuts. Then serve and enjoy. Yummy In My Tummy
